The Great Loop — about 6,000 miles of connected rivers, canals, and coastline. Pickup and drop-off is Washington, DC, on the Chesapeake leg. Run one section of it, or the whole thing.

A boat that's already done it

Sanguine — our 1989 32' Marinette flybridge — is the same boat we took all the way around the Loop ourselves. Every system on board has been tested against the real thing, not a brochure.

We were the first ones around

Before Sanguine ever went up for rent, we took her around the full circuit ourselves.

How the rental works

You're the captain for the whole trip. We handle the parts that shouldn't be your problem.

Reserve your dates

Tell us your window and we hold the boat for you.

Pick up the boat

Meet us in Washington, DC for a full walkthrough before you shove off.

Run your own Loop

You navigate and choose the stops. We're on call for maintenance and route recommendations.

Drop it off

Bring the boat back to Washington, DC when your section or your Loop is done.

Run a section, or the whole Loop

The full Great Loop usually takes 5–8 months to complete. Not everyone has that kind of time — so you can book a single leg out of Washington, DC, or take the boat for the whole circuit.

A few weeks on one leg — the Chesapeake and ICW down to Florida, for example — with the boat back in Washington, DC when you're done.

Priced to undercut buying, not to match a luxury charter

This rate is built from what it actually costs to keep Sanguine running while she's out with a renter — scheduled maintenance, a wear-and-tear reserve, and the trips we make to meet renters and service her along the route.

Insurance is on you You'll need to carry insurance covering damage and natural disaster before we hand over the keys. A $35,000 deposit is also required at pickup — fully refunded when Sanguine comes back safe. Together, it protects the boat and keeps your rate this low.

Fall in love with her along the way? Renters who complete the full Loop get an exclusive option to buy Sanguine outright for $50,000 at the end of the trip — section rentals aren't eligible.
